Sports drinks, protein drinks and energy drinks are coming out in the market with big sales. The commericials usually have athletes that benefit from these drinks, allowing us to feel that the drink has the power to give us energy, allow us to run far and to be able to work out so we can fit into our bikinis this summer.
Really?
These drinks are for people who are working out. The drink does not give you the energy to work out...there is no 'poof' you are now an athlete because you are walking from the bus to your office. They do not give you the energy to stay awake longer during class.
If you actually read the label you would be surprised at the contents and the calories. When you are working up a sweat and building your muscles, then have an energy drink or such. Otherwise you don't need them at all.
Drink water!
