Building a six pack

Wow look at those muscles!

Working those muscles can lead to the 'pump' where once a contraction is released the blood flow. As blood flows back into the working muscles, they look larger. With lactic acid and waste, immediate 'pump you up' effect allows one to look bigger. This also causes the scale to tell you that you weigh more.

So now you are heavier and a bit sore, or in my case, a lot sore. Starting a work out program can be a bit discouraging at first. I definitely do not feel better and my muscles may be bulging and I want to run to the fridge for a six pack.

It takes 21 days to form a habit as they say.....you have to slowly develop into your workout...if you over train you will feel tired and even sick. Well there is some motivation for you.

Depending on your goals, a workout has to be a time that is actually enjoyable and serving a purpose. You may just want to increase your activity for a healthier lifestyle, or you may want to tone and build muscle, it could be just to lose the fat. You do not have to like your workout at first, you might even hate it, but learn from it..."I need a different work out"

Know your goals "What is it you want from your workout"

Make a schedule that fits you, don't try to workout at times that don't make sense.

Try different workouts, you are not committed to one, just commit to working out.

Track your progress, work your way up to the 100 sit ups, don't start with them.

Throw a fit...get over it...and work out again!
